ECOCERT: COSMOS Organic Certification For Ethical skincare

Product Certification, such as ECOCERT COSMOS Organic or Natural, is a sure way to showcase effective practices and products of outstanding quality.
ECOCERT is the world's leading organic certification organisation founded in France. For over 30 years, ECOCERT has implemented and promoted sustainable practices through certification. Starting with organic farming, ECOCERT has extended its efforts to various other sectors, including skincare. The organisation strives to enable production processes that respect the environment and better product quality and safety.
One of the areas of ECOCERT's practice is COSMOS certification. The certification highlights environmentally friendly and socially conscious concepts.
It guarantees:

All the products have been ECOCERT verified by a third party – from composition to processing and packaging. The products are divided into two categories:
ECOCERT COSMOS Natural and ECOCERT COSMOS Organic.
To get the COSMOS Natural label, all the products ingredients have to be from natural origin except a restrictive approved ingredient list authorized in small quantities. On average, ECOCERT-certified products contain 99% ingredients of natural origin. Most of the Pérle De Clair skincare products are Natural certified. Starting with cleansing, such products are Clarifying Gel and Purifying Mousse. The next step, toning , can be done with Hydrating Toner or Purifying Toner. More goal-specific products such as Hydrating Serum, Smoothing Eye Cream, Brightening Eye Cream, Caffeine Gel Booster and Antioxidant Ginkgo Gel Booster are also completely natural. Moisturisers that are Natural certified are Moisturising Day Cream, Light Moisturising Day Cream, Anti-age Day Cream, Nourishing Rich Cream and Oil-Free Hydrating Gel.
A skincare product is COSMOS Organic certified only if a minimum of 95% of the plants it contains are organic and at least 20% of organic ingredients are present in the total formula (10% for rinse-off products). Note that water or minerals are not regarded as “organic” as they are not from agriculture.
Currently, three products from the Pérle De Clair catalogue are Organic certified. They are: Gentle Cleansing Milk, Micellar Cleansing Water, Nourishing Facial Oil.

Synthetic dyes, coal tar, carbon black, or talc: We ban these pigments and fillers due to their links to health risks, including potential carcinogenicity, contamination with heavy metals, and skin irritation.
